Apple Gears Up for Major Smart Home Expansion With Five New Products Expected by 2025

Apple is reportedly preparing to expand its footprint in the smart home sector with as many as five new products expected to launch over the next year. According to an October 29 report titled “Apple Could Launch Five New Home Products in the Year Ahead,” published by Startup News FYI, the tech giant’s roadmap includes a mix of revamped existing devices and entirely new offerings.

Citing sources familiar with Apple’s development plans, the report indicates that the company may introduce a redesigned Apple TV, an updated HomePod, and an upgraded HomePod mini. In addition, Apple is said to be progressing on two novel devices that would represent new entries in its smart home portfolio: a smart display and a device that integrates the capabilities of an iPad, Apple TV, and HomePod into a single product.

The move signals Apple’s growing ambition to make its mark in a sector where competitors like Amazon and Google already have a wide range of established smart home hardware. While Apple’s HomeKit platform positions the company as a key player in home automation, its proprietary hardware offerings have so far remained relatively limited. Analysts suggest that an expanded product suite could help Apple establish a more robust presence in living rooms and kitchens across its global user base.

In particular, the rumored smart display has drawn attention from industry observers. It could potentially rival Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub, giving Apple users a more integrated option for managing home devices, viewing calendar events, making FaceTime calls, and accessing multimedia content. Meanwhile, a hybrid device that merges elements of an iPad, Apple TV, and HomePod hints at a strategic effort to break down barriers between traditional computing, entertainment, and voice-controlled interfaces.

The updated Apple TV is also of note, with expectations pointing toward enhanced performance and deeper integration with Apple’s gaming and streaming services. Similarly, the new HomePod and HomePod mini would likely improve on audio quality and Siri responsiveness—areas where Apple has made incremental progress in recent years, but still faces stiff competition.

Apple has not officially confirmed any product names or launch dates, but the Startup News FYI report suggests that at least some of the devices may debut as early as the first half of 2025. If accurate, the timeline could align with Apple’s typical spring product announcements or give the company strategic opportunities to counter new device launches from its rivals.
