OpenAI has expanded its subscription offerings for ChatGPT with the U.S. launch of its new “Go” tier, introducing a budget-friendly alternative to its existing Plus and Pro plans. Priced at $8 per month, ChatGPT Go grants users access to GPT-4, although with some limitations compared to the full version available in the Pro plan. Specifically, users on the Go tier will interact with GPT-4 in the form of GPT-4 Turbo—a faster and more efficient variant of the model. While this version supports natural language interactions and remains highly capable, it may offer reduced availability during peak usage times and fewer advanced features than those available to Plus and Pro subscribers.

The Go plan also includes access to image generation tools powered by DALL·E, OpenAI’s custom image generation system, and the company’s voice mode—allowing users to interact conversationally with the AI. However, these functions are available with limitations and may not mirror the full functionality that Pro users enjoy.

With this new plan, OpenAI appears to be addressing growing market demand for more accessible AI tools among casual users, students, and professionals with lighter usage needs. The subscription tiers now range from the free basic plan to Go at $8 per month, Plus at $20, and the Pro option at $40, which caters to power users requiring consistent access to premium features and higher model availability.
