CrowdStrike is in advanced talks to acquire Orion Security, an Israeli AI data-security startup, for roughly $500 million, according to a Calcalist report. The talks have not yet produced a completed deal, and the report does not name its sources, so this is a negotiation in progress, not a done deal.
Future Wire has also covered Rein Security and its $25 million round.

What Orion Actually Does
Orion is pitching a rethink of data loss prevention, the category of tools that stop sensitive information from leaking but typically rely on manually configured rules. Instead, Orion uses specialized AI agents to judge each data movement in context, weighing signals like data sensitivity, lineage, user identity, behavior, and intent, according to SiliconANGLE coverage. The company says that approach cuts false-positive alerts and catches incidents traditional DLP misses.
The startup emerged from stealth in March 2025 with a $6 million seed round, per Help Net Security, then closed a $32 million Series A in February 2026 led by Norwest Venture Partners, with IBM participating. That brings its total to $38 million. CEO Nitay Milner is a former product leader at Epsagon, which Cisco acquired, and Calcalist puts the team at about 20 people, expanding in Israel and New York.
A Familiar Shopping Pattern
A deal would extend CrowdStrike’s run of Israeli acquisitions. Calcalist’s tally has the company picking up Seraphic (browser security), Adaptive Shield (SaaS security), Flow Security (data security), and Bionic (application security).

What to watch next is whether the talks produce a signed deal, and how CrowdStrike would fold AI-driven data protection into its platform. Until then, the $500 million figure is Calcalist’s reporting, not a confirmed price tag.
